We'll take a day trip to the Northeast Kingdom's Moose Bog to try our luck at finding birds unique to boreal forests in that region - the Gray Jay, Spruce Grouse, Boreal Chickadee, and Black-backed Woodpecker. Driving the roads near the Wenlock Wildlife Management area and Silvio Conte Wildlife Refuge by van, we'll stop at various habitats for short easy walks along roads, or scope open areas and bogs.
Wear warm clothing (bring extra), and bring plenty of food and water. If you have them, we encourage you to bring your field guide, binoculars, camera and any other optics gear you might want that day. Your guide will have a scope for participants to share.
